Ordering and payment

You are ordering from Laura Ellis, trading as Ellis Print & Stitch, inside Roberts Plumbing Supplies, 380 Poulton Road, Wallasey, CH44 4DD.

The website basket prepares an order request. Sending a request is not a completed purchase: Laura checks stock, artwork and the final price with you first. An order is confirmed once it has been accepted and paid. Online card checkout is not currently available on this website.

Payment is due in full before work starts. We do not begin unpaid orders or offer credit. Prices are in pounds sterling. Ellis Print & Stitch is not VAT registered, so no VAT is added.

Availability is confirmed before payment. If the required garment or colour is unavailable, Laura will discuss an alternative with you before an order goes ahead.

Your garments and artwork

Garments and personalisation are priced separately. Small designs are £4.50, Medium £6.50 and Large £8.50 per item, per placement, for embroidery or print. Artwork preparation is £25; a small design starting from an idea is £40. Suitable production-ready PES embroidery files or transparent PNG print files need no setup fee, subject to checking.

Laura will confirm any artwork charges and the total before you pay. The basket automatically counts £25 once per new embroidered design when matching items use the same design name; any other preparation is confirmed with you.

You will receive a proof before personalisation starts. Please check the spelling, wording, sizes, colours and placement carefully and make sure you have permission to use any logo or artwork you supply.

Colours can look different on screens and may vary between garments, batches, print and embroidery thread. Ask to see a sample or discuss the colour if an exact match matters to you.

Turnaround and collection

Our usual turnaround is 5–7 working days from payment and artwork approval. New embroidery digitising may add 24–48 hours. Waiting for garments, artwork or your approval, or a large order, can affect the completion date; Laura will discuss this with you.

Rush work is subject to availability and an agreed £15 priority fee. Please ask before ordering if you have a deadline.

Collection from the workshop is free. We will let you know when your order is ready. The workshop is inside Roberts Plumbing Supplies, 380 Poulton Road, Wallasey, CH44 4DD.

If you need postage, contact Laura after placing your order to arrange it. Postage is quoted and paid separately; it is not included in the website basket total.

Workshop hours are Monday–Friday, 9:30am–2:30pm. Closed weekends and bank holidays. Appointments outside these hours are welcome by arrangement.

Changes, cancellations and returns

Personalised garments

Please contact Laura as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel something. Once personalisation has started, we cannot undo it. Personalised or custom-made goods are excluded from the usual change-of-mind cancellation right for distance sales. This does not remove your rights if goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to meet the required standard.

Plain garments ordered by consumers at a distance

For eligible unpersonalised goods ordered online, by email or by phone, you can tell us you wish to cancel within 14 days after you receive or collect them, then return them within a further 14 days. You may inspect or try on the goods as you would in a shop.

For a change-of-mind return, you pay return postage or can return the item to the workshop. Refunds include any standard outward delivery charge where applicable. A deduction may apply for handling beyond what is necessary to inspect the goods. These consumer cancellation rights do not automatically apply to business purchases.

If something is wrong

Contact Laura with your order details and a description or photograph of the problem. We will discuss the appropriate repair, replacement or refund in line with your rights. Our terms and any artwork approval do not exclude responsibility for our own errors or remove your statutory rights.

Read the GOV.UK information on returns and refunds.

Can you work on a garment I already own?

Bring it in and I'll take a look first. High street garments aren't made to take the same stress as workwear, so I need to see the item before agreeing to embroider or print on it. If I'm happy to go ahead I'll explain any fabric risks and ask you to sign a form before work starts.

Acceptance is at Laura’s discretion. Any agreed fabric risks will be explained before work begins; this does not waive responsibility for a failure to use reasonable care and skill or affect rights that cannot legally be excluded.
